The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is taking steps to expanding and enhancing its STEM-related learning environments by offering training and educational pathways for career-transitioning and incumbent workers throughout the region. The STEM WEST Intermediary has been created to address the evolving trends of California's industry sectors in order to align with the federal government's goal of strengthening the nation's global competitiveness. In partnership with an array of regional stakeholders, LACCD has united the strengths of higher education with corporate America in order to reach the next generation of workforce development solutions. The entities that comprise the STEM WEST intermediary are encouraged to participate in its grant proposal development processes in order to assure the highest potential for addressing their workforce development needs.
