West Coast Motion (WCM) is a Southern California Automotive, Truck & Transit collaboration between business & industry, regional community colleges, and the workforce development system. This group seeks to work together in order to initiate the development of career pathways for career-minded individuals, assist in creating a pipeline of better-skilled workers, and help upgrade the Automotive, Truck and Transit Industries towards sustainable business practices.

OBJECTIVES
1) Secure local/state/Federal grants to cover the cost of training current and future workers
2) Identify current and future hiring needs of regional businesses
3) Host industry-driven forums to expand capacity of regional corporations and establish a foundation for information-exchange about emerging products and trends

Oct 2009 - LA County WIB & LACCD has secured CA Clean Energy Grant (Category 3) Alternative Fuels Program ($706K).

Chevy is hosting a panel discussion that will focus on getting California "plug-in ready" on Monday, Nov. 30th, 6:30pm in Los Angeles.

Australian Deputy Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, is scheduled to visit LATTC Oct. 5th at 2:30 to discuss Green Jobs & Clean Energy topics.
